Join us in celebrating Wear It Purple Day

Learn more about how you can show your support for LGBTQIA+ youth this Wear It Purple Day.

On Friday 30 August, Aussies are invited to sport their best purple outfits to show support and solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community. By wearing purple, you're letting rainbow youth know they're accepted, respected, safe and should be proud of who they are.

Your Passion, Your Pride

This year’s Wear It Purple Day theme is “Your Passion, Your Pride,” chosen by the talented artist Nicky Tsekouras. It’s all about encouraging LGBTQIA+ youth to shine brightly, be their true selves, and chase their dreams openly and visibly in any area they choose. As Tor Adams from the Youth Action Council puts it, “It’s time for rainbow youth to see and feel a positive surge in successful, happy role models from the LGBTQIA+ community who are living proof it’s possible.”

Show Your Support

Seeing their peers proudly rocking purple on Wear It Purple Day can help to make those in the LGBTQIA+ community feel supported, seen, and accepted. This simple act can raise awareness, spark meaningful conversations, and give a huge boost to their confidence and well-being. Knowing there are allies around who support their journey is incredibly empowering, so we encourage you to get involved!

Head to Robina Town Centre and grab some awesome purple gear! Whether it’s a beanie, a new jumper, vibrant nail polish, or a head-to-toe purple ensemble, any effort to wear purple on 30 August will make a big impact.
